Thanks for visiting Medley Farm and Kennel!
We are a small hobby farm/ranch located at the edge of the delta in sunny California, just 20 minutes south of Sacramento. We are surrounded by grapes, foothills and farm lands.
We strive to produce the healthiest and happiest animals we can, by breeding for sound
temperament, correct structure, excellent health and proper breed type in all of our animals. We do health testing on everyone and we only breed the best of what we have to offer. Our dogs are family members first, and our sheep are pasture raised in the most natural and safe environment we can provide for them. We have "real" jobs to support the place; the ranch and the animals are our passion.
Roger was an animal science student at Cal Poly Pomona until he "found his calling" in a horse science class where he learned about horse shoeing. He then transferred to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where he completed a degree in Farriery. He has been shoeing horses for over 25 years. His love of animals shines through in his calm and quiet demeanor. Even fractious animals respond to him and seem to calm in his presence.
Tammi has made a profession out of being a professional student! She started working as a Vet. tech. at the age of fifteen. She attended UC Davis as an Animal Science major, with the intent of becoming a Vet. During her junior year, she realized all the Veterinarians she worked for were right, she'd never survive financially as a Vet. because she couldn't make the"difficult decisions". She graduated, and eventually returned to school to become a Nurse. Luckily, she found her calling, when she returned to graduate school to become a Nurse Anesthetist.
